Welcome to my website. I provide independent economic consulting on finance and damages, energy, and competition issues. I have a Ph.D. in economics from Clemson University specializing in industrial organization, finance, and public sector, and am a Senior Managing Economist at LECG in our Washington, DC office, and an Adjunct Economics Professor at Johns Hopkins University.
My experience has included analyzing competition issues in litigation matters that have been brought before federal and state courts, regulatory commissions, and in merger investigations. I have developed or analyzed damages models in a range of industries pertaining to various allegations including loss of rigths, breach of contract, fraud, antitrust, and patent infringement. Last year , I testified as an expert witness at deposition and at trial in federal court regarding damages issues related to the loss of a right challenge the taking of property as a result of eminent domain proceedings.
My work has included the evaluation of market definition and competitive effects using regression analysis and economic modeling. I have analyzed competition and regulation in the electricity industry, including issues related to electric power sales, forward sales, entry conditions, and capacity payments. I have evaluated competition in other industries as well, including waste collection and disposal, video games, home appliances, enterprise application software, billboard leases, and carbonated soft drinks.
In fall 2010 I am teaching a graduate microeconomics class at Johhs Hopkins University. I taught economics classes at Clemson University and published papers and made presentations pertaining to both energy and competition issues. I am a member of the AEA and ABA.
I have also been very active in the recruitment (7 years through mid-2008), training (last 2 or 3 years), and overall management (beginning 2008) of our junior staff in the DC office of LECG.
